As you wander through the narrow streets of Tokyo lined on either side are quaint two storey houses quite often with the family home upstairs and store downstairs. Typically they sell specialised goods of high craftmanship.
In the suburb of Kichijoji is a small shop called Puku Puku. They sell antique ceramics including items from the early Shōwa (1926–89) period, through Taishō (1912–26) and Meiji (1868–1912) and all the way back to old Edo (1603–1868). Customers know to go to this store for the traditional homewares they sell.
